What makes Saint-Tropez such a great place to live?
Shaped by the sea, Saint-Tropez is a peninsula with an international reputation. Its unique cachet lies in its deeply rooted Mediterranean way of life: the Provençal rhythm of the seasons endures here. It is lively and convivial in summer, wonderfully intimate off-peak. The markets, cafés, coastal paths and hidden beaches create a lifestyle that feels both simple and joyful. And its ever-changing light – soft in the morning, golden at dusk – always inspires.

Who’s buying in Saint-Tropez, and why?
Buyers are drawn to Saint-Tropez for the village’s authentic charm and its global brand. They are roughly split between international – with a significant European tranche – and French. Saint-Tropez offers a peaceful tempo that is the perfect antidote to city life. International families and retirees are attracted by its climate and discreet elegance off-season. For others, its enduring desirability on the world stage earmarks it as a sound investment.

Which are the best areas to buy in?
In Saint-Tropez itself, the areas of Les Parcs de Saint-Tropez, La Moutte/Salins, Les Canebiers, Le Capon and the centre of the village offer exceptional villas, waterfront properties and high-end apartments.

In nearby Ramatuelle – famous for privacy and proximity to the beach at Pampelonne – there are luxury villas with sea views set on larger plots. Sainte-Maxime, Gassin and Grimaud are Provençal villages with contemporary villas, traditional stone houses and gated estates. And lovely Port Grimaud provides waterfront properties with moorings.

Which are your favourite places to eat and drink?
I am drawn to places that feel truly rooted in the village, whether that’s casual or refined. For a coffee or a leisurely breakfast, I head to Senequier, a local institution, from where you can see some of the most beautiful yachts in the port. For lunch, you can try the restaurant at Hôtel La Ponche in the old village, or Chez Camille in Pampelonne Beach, renowned for its traditional bouillabaisse. The hidden terrace at Le TIGrr, in the Ermitage hotel, is perfect for a sunset drink overlooking the bay. And for big occasions, it’s Il Giardino in the Byblos hotel, or Vista at Lily of the Valley in La Croix-Valmer, looking out to sea. For something sweet, nothing beats La Tarte Tropézienne pastry shop – though acclaimed newcomers Cyril Lignac and Cedric Grolet are having a jolly good try.

What can you do for culture?
Less about spectacle and more about traditions, the cultural life of Saint-Tropez starts on the streets and small squares.

On the famous Place de l’Ormeau and Place des Lices, pétanque players meet daily. Concerts such as Les Nuits du Château de la Moutte and theatre performances at the Festival de Ramatuelle take place in intimate venues, and in May there’s a culinary event featuring world-famous chefs. Les Voiles de Saint-Tropez, at the end of September, brings together classic and modern boats in a spectacular regatta. Small galleries and artisan workshops such as Lavoir Vasserot offer insights into Provençal craftsmanship, while the Musée de l’Annonciade showcases works by Signac and Matisse. And La Citadelle de Saint-Tropez contains a fascinating maritime museum.

How’s the shopping?
Shopping in Saint-Tropez is a delight. You’ll find boutiques from the go-to international luxury brands – from Louis Vuitton to Bottega Veneta – but truly special are the independent shops and artisan workshops. Soak up the atmosphere at the colourful Place des Lices market while browsing fresh produce, flowers and crafts.

You’ll also find jewellery ateliers such as Sébastien crafting bespoke items including his Saint-Tropez medals collection, Mana for personalised handmade baskets, and Maison ST for fragrances with Saint-Tropez-inspired notes.

Find the classic leather Tropézien sandals at Rondini and K Jacques, and explore Le Jas des Robert flea market for vintage treasures. 

What do you love best about Saint-Tropez?
Coming from a Tropézien family, I feel incredibly fortunate to be raising my daughter here, where community shapes our daily life. I relish taking part in traditions such as our three-day Les Bravades festival – celebrating the Saint-Tropez behind the glamour that is rarely seen in the media. This is not just a home – it’s a way of life, a heritage and a source of joy that I would never trade.
