The picturesque Cinque Port towns of Rye (5.5 miles) and Tenterden (5.7 miles) have an excellent and varied selection of shops, supermarkets, schools and recreational facilities, the former also benefiting from tennis, golf and sailing clubs.
- Rail services can be found at Appledore (4.9 miles) and Rye with services to Ashford International station having connections to London and the continent. Headcorn station (14.4 miles) has fast and frequent services to London. A high speed train service runs from Ashford (14 miles) to London St Pancras in about 37 minutes.
