About this property
Perched majestically on the cliffs overlooking Mawgan Porth, Westward offers an unparalleled opportunity to own a property in one of Trenance’s most secluded and coveted locations. With breathtaking views of the coastline, beach and sea, this historic property provides a wonderful chance to experience the beauty of the ocean from the privacy of its elevated, tree-lined plot.
True to its name, Westward boasts stunning views that stretch across the evergreen trees to the south and southwest, capturing the vast sandy beach, sparkling sea, and distant coastline. Positioned perfectly to soak up the afternoon and evening sunshine, the property offers spectacular sunsets just a few degrees off due south.
Built in 1917, Westward was the first house on the Trenance side of Mawgan Porth. With about 3000 square feet of sensitively and carefully refurbished space, the accommodation includes spacious features such as a large open-plan kitchen/dining area with an oil-fired Aga and oak, full height and vaulted ceiling. The immediate feeling of space is enhanced with the room incorporating a glazed area which maximises the views and provides access to the terrace, decking and gardens. A large chimney breast flanked by walkway separate the kitchen/dining area from a cosy sitting room.
Boasting five generous double bedrooms, three with en-suite bathrooms and the principal bedroom with a dressing room/nursery bedroom, Westward also offers a family bathroom and a utility room.
Accessed via a private, tree-lined driveway, Westward sits at the rear of its substantial plot. Unique to the Trenance hillside, the property features a flat plateau garden with expansive, level lawns and sheltering evergreen trees, providing both privacy and tranquillity. With a double garage to one side and a spacious terrace and decking to the front, accessed from the kitchen/dining area, Westward offers easy access to the coastal path, allowing residents to join the South West Coast Path or stroll down to the beach.
Westward is a glorious property in an enchanting location, offering unparalleled privacy, seclusion, and stunning sea views.
