Cannes Yachting Festival
Billed as Europe’s biggest in-water event, this glamorous annual yachting festival kicks off the season in the Bay of Cannes. The leisure boating community come together to check out the latest launches from the world’s main shipyards in the Vieux Port, as well as lifestyle brands in the Palais des Festivals. London Fashion Week
Hot on the heels of New York, London’s ever-spectacular Fashion Week begins on 12 September, with Harris Reed ever the one to watch. Milan’s Camera Moda follows (17-23 September), with Fendi and Marni in one blockbuster afternoon, and Paris (23 September-1 October) brings the big four to a close with Louis Vuitton. A festival of cocktail parties, dinners and general carousing follows in the wake of each.

Monaco Yacht Show
This high-octane superyacht event unfolds in the principality’s deep-water Port Hercule, where visitors can admire the most exciting launches of the past year, meet the teams who put them together and commission a luxury vessel.

Frieze London
The capital’s pre-eminent contemporary art show features the work of 165 galleries from 43 countries, exhibiting in Regent’s Park. London stars present include the Lisson, Victoria Miro and White Cube galleries, as well as emerging favourites such as Harlesden High Street. Running in conjunction, Frieze Masters offers a contemporary perspective on thousands of years of art history, from collectible ancient objects to works from the late 20th century.

Melbourne Cup Carnival
Known as the “race that stops a nation”, the Melbourne Cup is the biggest horseracing event in Australia – a flat race over 3,200 metres, with prize money of AUD$8,000,000 (£4m). It falls in the middle of seven days of live music, fashion shows and fine-dining extravaganzas – along with more historic races, including the Penfolds Victoria Derby and the VRC Oaks.

Art Basel Miami Beach
North America’s premier fair shows works by masters of modern and contemporary art, as well as the new generation of emerging stars – almost 300 leading galleries from five continents come together in the Florida sunshine. Top curators, museum directors and private collectors enjoy a week of parties and satellite fairs, too.

Abu Dhabi Grand Prix
In the final race of the Formula 1 season, the world’s best drivers take on the Yas Marina circuit. The Abu Dhabi Grand Prix is the only twilight gathering in the F1 calendar, providing a moonlit climax to the championship. The entertainment continues long into the night, with a high-octane fireworks display and concert headlined by Muse.

London International Horse Show
The UK’s favourite horse show offers much more than competition displays of dressage, showjumping and carriage driving (with a festive theme) in its two vast arenas at the ExCel in east London. These flagship events are bolstered by international displays, masterclasses, Kennel Club Dog Agility, top-tier shopping and dining options – including Tom Kerridge’s two-Michelin-starred Hand and Flowers pub pop-up – and, a highlight, the Shetland Pony Grand National.

Snow Polo World Cup St Moritz
Since 1985, teams from around the world have competed on the frozen lake in St Moritz for the Snow Polo World Cup. This unique high-goal tournament on snow, the highlight of a weekend of events on the lake, is played against the magnificent backdrop of the Engadin Valley. Reserve a seat in the grandstand with the Perrier-Jouët Chukker Club, offering warm blankets and champagne.

NFL Super Bowl
The biggest game in American football heads to the Big Easy for its 59th year. Famed for its rich cultural heritage and warm hospitality, New Orleans will host the game at Caesars Superdome, with premium dining options and post-game field access on the day. The Kansas City Chiefs beat the San Francisco 49ers in overtime in 2024, and Usher, Ludacris and Alicia Keys performed live at half-time. Taylor Swift, Lana Del Rey, Kendall Jenner, Blake Lively and Justin and Hailey Bieber were all in the crowd.

Collect Art Fair
Now in its 20th year, this is the leading international fair for contemporary craft and design, held in London. Collectors can acquire museum-quality work, handmade by the 21st century’s finest craft talents, via specialist galleries, dealers and collectives representing 400 of the best. Mediums include ceramic, lacquer, precious metals, textiles, fibre, wood and paper, with a special focus on reused and repurposed materials.
